Historical Museum

The Historical Museum collects and exhibits heritage related to the history and art of Wrocław. The museum is housed in a baroque classicistic Royal Palace with a garden. In the years 1750-1918 the building was one of the mansions belonging to Prussian rulers from the Hohenzollern family, who numerously expanded the palace, changing it into a sophisticated royal residence. Since 1926 the building has been a museum. After a thorough renovation that took place in the recent years, the palace became a modern exhibition centre. Vast collections belonging to the City Museum of  Wrocław are presented on a multimedia permanent exhibition entitled 1000 Years of Wrocław. The exhibition is complemented by royal chambers and an original baroque room lined with ceramic Delft tiles.
