Zbigniew Horbowy – Polish artist, one of the most outstanding European glass designers, creator of his own design school, educator. He was awarded the prestigious Silesian Cultural Award of Lower Saxony, which was posthumously presented in September 2019. Of the many Silesian artists, he is one of the most recognised artists of the last half-century in Europe. In one of the interviews he once said, “You love glass so much that you can throw yourself in the oven for it. Zbigniew Horbowy died on 17 June 2019 in his beloved Polanica – Zdrój.

The exhibition presents over 200 glasses made according to Zbigniew Horbowy design in the 60s and 90s. Particular emphasis was placed on the glasses to which the artist paid much attention and which became his design trademark. The glasses come from the collection of the City Museum of Wrocław, the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław and from private collections.
